The Story Behind NolaWorks
I did not set out to become an entrepreneur.
My career began in the Finnish public sector, where I worked in legal advisory roles before serving as a judge at the Insurance Court of Finland. Along the way, I developed a deep interest in international social security, cross-border mobility, and the practical challenges people and businesses face when operating across borders.
Looking back, the path to founding NolaWorks was not a single decision, but a gradual realization. Through years of studying, working, and engaging with international business and technology communities, one idea became increasingly clear: the future of work is global.
Today, cross-border employment, remote work, and international talent mobility are no longer exceptions—they are part of everyday business. Yet for many companies, particularly SMEs and entrepreneurs, navigating social security, employment regulations, and worker mobility across jurisdictions remains complex and uncertain.
NolaWorks was founded to bridge that gap.
Drawing on expertise in international social security law, EU mobility frameworks, worker rights, and related employment matters, NolaWorks helps businesses and individuals navigate cross-border work with greater clarity and confidence.
Our mission is simple: to reduce friction, remove uncertainty, and help organizations unlock opportunities beyond their local markets.
The name Nola was inspired by a piece of art that left a lasting impression on me. It serves as a reminder that growth often begins when we are willing to step beyond familiar boundaries and embrace new possibilities.
At its core, NolaWorks is about helping people and businesses move forward—across borders, across systems, and towards new opportunities.
“Our mission is simple: to reduce friction, remove uncertainty, and help organizations unlock opportunities beyond their local markets.”
